oil pressure problem

i was driving home today from work and i noticed my oil pressure was veryy low (under 30 psi while driving) i stopped to see if i had oil and it was full. then the motor started rattling louder and louder, and finally it started running like ****. so im thinkin bad oil pump or bad oil pressure regulator, any guesses?

drain oil, check for metal in it and the filter. i like to pour in a quart of thin oil like 10/30 or ATF then drain it, helps get the crud (or shavings) off bottom of oil pan.

If the motor rattles, does the rattling increase with rpm? that would be hosed rotor bearing and the rotor is hitting anything it can.

From: Kissimmee Fl,
yea u feel it on the pedal, the bearing is probly toasted due to no oil gettin up there to lubricate it. good thing i have a rainy day fund for when things like this happen...

The OEM gauge ends up being deffective after awhile, I ended up buying an aftermarket gauge(electric in a pod) after I came across(gauge not working properly) that same problem. Havent had any problems since.

From: Kissimmee Fl,
yea but the gauge was reading correctly. somehow no oil was getting to the rotors thus starving my motor for oil which means. re-rebuild time... i love my car
