Oil Pressure and oil usage?

My oil pressure gauge is reading well below 30psi at idle . Between 30psi and what could be 45psi at 3000 rpm. I do not remember it reading so low in the past. I have also been checking the oil level and it has not seemed to have dropped any since last oil change 2000 miles ago. I thought it was supposed to use 1qt approx. every 1000 miles. I am hoping that my gauge or oil pressure sending unit are going bad. I looked through some of the archives but didn't see an answer. Could this be a more serious problem? I also just purchased a pair of Racing Beat mufflers. Man, I hope they sound good.

until you can verify if you have an oil pressure problem I would be pre-mixing my fuel..if your Omp is shot and you are not gettin lube to the internals then you will have another problem on your hands...be on the safe side..if you rae going to drive it ..premix until you can ascertain that your oil is gettin to where it has to go..(1oz of two stroke to I gallon..1 bottle(16 oz) per tank..if I am wrong on this ..i'll get the asbestos on..

The stock oil pressure sensor is notorious for failing.
Get a good, known (aftermarket) oil pressure gauge and double-check the numbers.
You might be surprised the stock readings are wrong.

these are not complicated lubrication systems, low oil pressure can usually only be caused by worn main bearings or a blown out front cover o-ring, my guess is the gauge or sender is faulty.

Thank you guys for the help. I believe I am going to do the 2 stroke oil mix until I can narrow down the issue. I am going to start with a new oil pressure gauge to check outside the factory gauge.
