do you have an oil leak anywhere?

My oil pressure drops down to the very bottom when ideling. When I press the throttle it stars to hover in the middle. But I have an oil leak in the top left side of the engine.

I have the same issue.

I have no leaks and I swapped oil pumps and the fron cover with te pressure control valve and I still have the same problem. I will be swapping out the Oil Pressure regulator in the oil pan at the rear of the motor soon I hope. When idling I get 0-18 psi. During driving it will hit 60 and slowly drop to between 30-60. I used a machanical oi lpressure gauge so I know its really that low.

Its supposed to be around 30 when idling and around 70 at 3000 rpm.

Go get a Mechanical oil pressure gauge first. Don't believe that stock gauge as the oil pressure sender is a lot of times, very inaccurate.

Sounds like this MIGHT be your trouble. Read up on the thermal pellet in the FSM.

you just described normal oil pressures.

sounds like a front cover o-ring issue, did you pay close attention to that o-ring when you disassembled/reassembled everything?

did you verify it with a mechanical gauge? if yes then i would bet the front cover o-ring has gone MIA, there should be a fair amount of info around if you search for it. it requires resealing the front cover.

I think half of you people have bad gauges. The stock gauges are inaccurate. Aftermarket electrical gauges can be inaccurate too--my sender **** on my autometer gauge, and my friend's autometer electric sender went bad and told him he was getting 7psi at idle in his T2 when he was really getting 15 according to a different mechanical gauge.
