oil pressure, Help

I just got a 90 TII and now i'm getting some low oil pressure readings, here they are (normal opperating temps - at idle, 15psi, holding at 3000 rpm, 55psi (book says it should be ~62-72psi) and under full load it goes up to around 65 psi. Should this be a cause for worry or should i just disregard it?

Doesn't sound TOO bad. How many miles on the engine?

Hmm, front cover o-ring might've gotten pinched when you put the front cover back on, that can make oil pressure low.

Did you by chance change or check the oil pump, oil pump chain, and front oil pressure relief valve spring?

What about the front oil pressure relief valve spring? It's the spring that is under the front cover when you take out the bottom bolt.

And like I said, the SPRING, not the thermal pellet.

And I'm not talking about the one in the e-shaft.

Bottom of front cover, inside oil pan, there is a bolt. Inside that bolt is the front oil pressure relief valve spring and a piston. If the spring is out of spec it can cause low oil pressure.

Your oil pressure doesn't sound THAT bad to me, just a little low. I wouldn't think it'd be that big of a deal to drive the way it is but don't take my word on that as I'm not 100% sure.

There are specs in the FSM for the length it should be if you get around to checking it ever.
