Oil pressure gauge sucks

Ok so i changed my oil today and noticed that my car was about a quart down. During driving with the old oil the pressure would normally read around 45 psi and 60psi during acceleration. Now that i've changed the oil and i'm back up to the full 5 quarts the gauge reads about 50 during acceleration and 35 normally. Do you think I need to replace the gauge?

First check the oil pressure sender connection.
It's just below the oil filter.
The connector may be loose or dirty.

The oil pressure sender does not measure oil level. So if you are expecting oil level to result in a pressure change, then you will be disappointed. Your oil pressure is within factory spec anyway, so don't worry about it.
