oil pressure?

what shoud the oil pressure be in a s5 TII at idle, driving speeds (65mph) and when your pushing it. I'm getting 17psi at idle, 42 driving speed and around ~50 when under load, is this right??, seems a little low to me

Should not be under 30 at idle if the correct oil weight is used and the engine is warm.

Sounds like the E-shaft thermo valve has failed. Don't drive the car until it is fixed.

Gone or replaced with a pellet??? You need something in there

just rebuilt the enging 300 mi ago and used a new one when i rebuilt it.
which is it gone or replaced??? And a new one wouldn't matter if you had a small peice of metal jamming it closed (you know the kind of little piece of metal that gets into the oils system when you blow a motor).

yeah, i know what your talking about,, the first quote you were talking about is someone elses, i replaced the unit with a new one from factory mazda. I cleaned the hell out of the engine, (this is about my 15th rebuild, i work for a rotary garage) and i haven't come across this problem before, i'm going to take out the front main bolt and see whats going on in there.

Mine was stuck closed at 165,000 miles.
Low oil pressure on mine started at 130,000
follwed by smoke { bad oil seals} shortly
