Question oil press. & volt gauge. please help

hey guys both my oil pressure & my volt meter gauge doesnt work . i know where around the plug onto the engine is for the oil press but please refresh me and help me out lol. but the volt meter i have no clue where it is. where would the wire for the volt meter be? so i can check on it.like i said both of the gauges arent working. I also checked the back of the gauge cluster and its all gravy back there so help me out guys.

Voltmeter reads the voltage at the cluster.

Check the screws on the back of the cluster, chances are they are corroded, or making poor contact if the voltmeter is not working.

if they are corroded... do i just soak em in coke ? or should i scrape them with a wire brush or steel wool?well thAnks

I usually remove them, wire brush, then use a touch of condutive grease (found at most auto parts stores for use on light bulbs) at both ends, then screw them back in.

do not ever use a wire brush to clean electrical connections.. use a eraser or baking soda mixed with water. do not scratch the area where the connection was made..

They do make cleaner for this also.

Jack you must have disconnected something or cut a wire..

I HAD IT FIXED ONCE BEfore. the volt meter that is and not too long after that maybe 3 months or so it died again i have not touched n e thing
and i meant the screws when i said wire brush and coke and all that good stuff not the boards. lol

for some reason my volt gauge is working again without me touching n e thing. well its not working properly though. it stayed at 8 for 2 days after i messed with the cluster and now tonight it is at 10 . and i have my speakers on loud bassing hard /headlights/brakes and the needle doesnt move so do u think it is still the corosion on the back of the cluster? thanks

The wire brush is used on the screw you remove. Not the plastic PCB.

Thats why I said
I usually remove them, wire brush,
indicating the conductive screws that send the electrical signal through from the PCB to the gauge.
