oil plug

i just changed the oil on my vert, and while i was at it i installed a new oil plug and metal crush gasket.... i have the plug tight, but i believe it is still leaking? I dont know what the problem might be....only reason i changed the plug was because somewhere along the line before i started changing the oil myself the oil plug was rounded and would only come off with 12point wrench....i picked up the new plug at autozone with a gasket...the threads appear the same and the head size went from 19 to 18mm from the orginal to the new one....i believe the other plug may have been the original... i dont know why it wont form a good seal...

You can always get another one from Mazdatrix and see if it leaks.

you "believe" its still leaking.....is it leaking or not?

it may be burs on the seating surface of the oil pan (if its leaking at the plug)

but tell us if it is ACTUALLY still leaking first

ok i changed my oil again, and i reinstalled my original plug thats been slightly rounded off, it goes in perfectly fine and can be tightened and loosen with a 12point closed wrench... I compared it with the aftermarket original plug and the thread are longer on the original plug... where can i get a new oem oil plug for my FC? will dealerships have this item or would that be impossible?

See a dealership parts department. If they don't have it on hand they will order one.

I agree. They may have to order it, but go with the "real deal".
