Oil metering pump and ECU help....

I need help, and this can't be found in the manual on fc3s.org because it is a different pin connection going into the ecu on the 89 than the 90. I am trying to test the oil metering pump and cannot find where it mates up to the ecu so I can test it. I really need some help on this because my car is stuck 150 miles away from my house and don't know if it would be a wise idea to drive it that far without the oil metering pump working properly. If I am wrong about this or there is some safeguard I can take so I drive it down there please let me know. Thanks.

You can pre-mix some TC-3 or equivalant 2-stroke oil in the gas, & drive all day.
Some members have removed the OMP & do that normally.
I'm not sure of the ratio - maybe a pint to a tank?

I'm guessing you're getting a check code?

Thanks for the help. I will probably be doing this seeing as I can't get this thing figured out.

Remember that you can't remove the metering oil pump on the S5 if you have the stock ECU. The ECU needs to see the pump, or it will go into limp-mode.

Yeah, I know. Do they make a cheater device that you can plug up to the old connection that sends a signal to the ECU acting like the device is still there. They made a few things like this for my corvette.

Tear open the ECU and look for a burn mark.... I had one that did that and it turned out that when the pump went, it took the ECU with it.. and when I put the new pump in,, the damn thing still went into limp mode until i replaced the ECU!!

I know I'd buy one.

I've already designed one around a microcontroller. I just have to actually make them...and since I don't have an S5 (I'm an S4 base type person) I don't have much motivation to actually produce them...

you can premix which will make it safe to drive. but it'll run like crap and have no power.

89 should be the same as 90.... however there is no 89-91 wiring diagram posted anywhere on the net. which probably wouldn't help you anways...

just look at the 89 FSM. and make sure you are in the N/A section and not the turbo section.

when does premixing make it run like crap and with no power? i ran some in mine and it seemed fine...maybe even a little smoother but that may have been a placebo effect. I know it wasn't worse though.

it runs bad because the S5 ECU goes into limp mode when the pump isn't working...

nothing to do with the premix.
