Oil Metering Pump Confusion...

Okay, I've been meaning to replace my OMP for a little while now. So I called up the dealer to get all the gaskets I may need, and they say its only an o-ring that I need to replace when doing that. I order it, pick it up.

Then I check on this board before starting, and people are talking about some kind of 5-hole copper gasket thing. So I call them up again, and they say that I should replace these crush wahsers since I will be removing/re-attaching the oil lines (there are two per line, for a total of 8 of them)- this does not sound like the 5-hole gasket deal that I hear about on the board.

So i am confused, what do I really need to replace this thing? The dealer mentioned nothing about a 5-hole gasket thing, just the 2-per line crush washers. So do I need to get these crush washers? Do I also need to get the elusive 5-hole gasket? I dont wanna take 5 trips to the dealer before finally having all the necessary parts to do the job.

BTW, if anyone happens to have any pics, feel free to post them, as I have never seen the OMP up really close so I dont know the parts or placement of parts really well. Also, if I do infact need to get that 5-hole gasket deal, would someone happen to have the Mazda part number? (since they seem so hard-pressed to find it)

There is an oval o-ring on the front cover-to-OMP mating surface.

There is a 5 hole (actually 4 holes get used) copper plate that goes on the backside of each OMP line, and the frontside of each line gets its own small washer. The reason they didnt use 8 washers, is because holding washers in place on the backside of each line while trying to install it would have been a bitch. So you have one plate that serves as 4 washers, then 4 washers, and the o-ring against teh block.

FWIW you dont need to worry about replacing those copper washers, theyre fine to reuse, just get em reasonably tight.
