oil line question

so using a tii front cover might be a little more work then im prepared for.

i am running my feed from an oil distribution block meant to run an oil cooler, my questions is would it be okay to run my return back to the distribution block, or will that not work because the oil will have to fight gravity to return to the block?

any thoughts?

I'd rather fight all that crap to use the tii cover than tapping the n/a one. Always a chance for a leak especially with aluminum. Also you can put the tii pump, gears, and baffle plate since the n/a doesn't have it.

yea.. sometimes theyre on there pretty good.. but like i said.. I used a NA front cover.. I just tapped a oil return line in the same spot as it is on the TII front cover.. and it worked fine. I woudnt worry to much about gravity not letting it flow because the oil system is pressurized, oil feeding into the turbo will push the excess out the return line. when oil gets to those temps it turns into what looks like brown foam. I wish i still had my front cover so i can snap some pics of it. but its pretty simple.

it would be hard to drill and tap the front cover whiles its on the car, with that much effort id put the tii front cover on.

but this damn oil cooler line wont come off. backs out the fitting in the front cover instead of just coming off.

so, spin it around? take hte line off at the oil cooler and spin the whole line around over and over till it comes out,

then use a wrench on the big part and a socket on the part that wa sposta stay in the front cover, and it should break loose

ive ran into that problem several times

Big hammer and locking pliers for me. Except I usually have other lines to use if there too badly messed up. Try to get some kind of leverage is the key.
