oil line fix/oil cooler
I thought that some of you might find this info useful. I spent many waisted hours to find out these stupid numbers. If you are replacing the oil line to the oil cooler(longer one) you can easily get to the bolts from under the car, after taking off the plastic guard(10mmbolts) the bolt that bolts the line onto the oil cooler its self it a 23mm socket. Then follow the line to the other end where you can reuse the 23mm socket. Note use lots of liquid wrench and a pry bar.
For the short line you will need the 23mm socket for the bolt to the top of the cooler. for the union nuts that connect the line to the motor you will need a NARROW 21mm open end wrench. and for the larger bolt you will need a 26mm open end wrench. hold the 21mm in place while you turn the 26mm wrench. It is easy but it took my too long because I could not find those numbers. Also for the line its self just go to a place that specializes in hose like Evco does here. It will save you a lot of money. I spent $13 on the long one and $9 for the short one. Much better than mazda.
I thought that I would share the info so others could use it. If any one notices a mistake feel free to correct me (it was a while ago that I fixed the long oil line)

If I understand you correctly, you're saying that you just had the hose replaced, but used the existing banjo ends? I remember reading somewhere that the banjo ends are barbed and the hose sides onto the ends. Is this correct? How much hose did you buy and of whst size? Thanks.

I just took the hose in there and they put it together. They replaced the hose itself and the ends that hold the hose to the ends that connect to the oil cooler and motor.
Admins put this info in the archives. Good stuff
