Some thing is wrong with this . the car has oil pressure gage the sending unit is on the side of the motor below the oil filter. the low level senser is on the side of the oil pan and has a warning light , buzzer, not a level gage , you should be embarrassed

Yea, the oil lever sensor wire is just below the oil filter, Its just one wire that connects to a copper looking cap, check that wire, i forgot to hook mine up onetime and the guage never came on, so just check that,

That gauge is for oil pressure, not level. The sender unit for the gauge is a small metal canister screwed into the side of the block under the oil filter. Check to see the wire hasn't fallen off. If the gauge still doesn't work with the wire in place, don't waste any more time trying to make it work. That gauge is notoriously unreliable and inaccurate. Get a quality aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

No, the correct way to find out if your oil is low is to check it's level! The rotary's partial-loss oil system needs to be checked regularly and topped up, as it uses about a litre/quart per 1000miles. You shouldn't rely on the low-oil warning light/buzzer to remind you. There's a reason they call the warning cluster the "idiot lights" y'know...

my oil light doesnt come on, hence the reliance onthe sound because my car runs relatively well so im not going under the hood every day or so. Not to mention my car goes through two quarts of oil every month.

Why don't you check the oil level every time you get gas like you are supposed to do???

Sounds like checking the oil when you are supposed to do would stop the "really embarrassing" situation as well as help your engine last longer.

Frankly I would be "really embarrassed" if the warning buzzer ever went off and someone I was riding with suddenly found out I was too lame to check the oil reguarly in my car.

The low oil sensor might be clogged up .. when I did my rebuild on my TII I took a pressure washer to clean everything up .. you have no idea the caked in Oil .. that looked more like grease that was in that thing .. it was Nasty! it took 10 mins of full pressure washing to clean that thing out.

Ahh common... do you want us to belive that you're in that much of a hurry that you can't pop the hood and check it after you fill your tank.

Like it's gonna take more than 30 seconds to check your oil??? Maybe if you are particularly slow 60 seconds.

Do you not have an owners manual??? It says to check it everytime as well.

Every time, that you let your engine get low enough on oil that the sensor could go off, you are starving your engine for oil, and possible causing damage.

The sensor and light are idiot lights and a buzzer that is telling you that you are smoking your engine.
