Oil injector removal?

Ok, I am setting up my ser 4 turbo motor for premix. How the heck do you remove the oil injectors? Looking at them it looks like there is a nut in the middle that I would need to loosen, the only problem is that none of my wrenches will fit in there, it seems that they are all two wide, I don't really feel like grinding down a perfectly good wrench so what's the trick? thanks

The ones on my car are 19mm, but I'm N/A series 5. I would assume they are the same size and in the same location.

You might need to remove some stuff (like the entire intake) to get to them, and if a straight wrench won't work you might need to use a 19mm deep socket.

My intake manifolf and all that good stuff is off, it just looks like the top of them is pretty wide, then under that is the nut shapped part, then it gets wide again. the only way it looks like they can be taken off is with a straight wrench in from the sides but the top and bottom of the injector (or injector assembly) keep me from doing this because it's pretty skinny. I am probably missing something I will take another look.

S5's oil injectors should be the same as the s4...but..the ones on the manifold come up with a the proper sized wrench..the 2 on the rotor housings, I couldnt GET ANY wrench to fit, vice grips will get them off easily.

Use slimmer cheap-oh wrenches like one person mentioned or buy a set of cone wrenches (primarily used for removing gears on a bike).

Do you have to put something in the hole to patch it after the removal of the oil injector ?

I bought a decent but inexpensive 14mm (IIRC) wrench, grinded down the open part narrower, then belt sanded, then polished it. Oiled it (for corrosion protection) and put it in a ziplock bag. It's my rotary specific oil injector only removal tool. A bit much?

I've used vice grips before on the big round part the first time I opened a rotary, and have also used a wrench, hammering it on so it jams in between where it goes. The tool above was very quick to make, and very worthwhile unless you're in a crazy hurry.
