Oil Gauge Troubles

Here's the Story so Far. My oil guage goes all the way up then sounds that blasted buzzer. I have checked ground points and even redid some that looked a little rough, still when the key is in the on position, up goes the needle and BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ... I have checked all the connections and they are good. Took out the Gauge Cluster a few hours ago, was gonna re-solder the points on it to see if that has any effect. Still wondering whats causing the darn needle on the oil guage to climb when the blasted motor isnt even on. Any Ideas, or has anyone else had this issue. can I bypass the damn stock gauge and put in a new one? Any help would be great.

Sounds like you have an electrical gremlin somewhere, because those two things aren't related. The gauge measures oil pressure, the light/buzzer warn of low oil level, and they use two different sensors. Is the warning light even coming on? I can't explain your problem, but since both the gauge and the buzzer are in the instrument cluster I'd start your trouble-shooting there.

The weird thing is the damn buzzer doesnt go off until the oil gauge needle reaches MAX. And this is all with the damn engine off. when the buzzer goes off the add coolant light comes on. But once again only after the oil gauge reaches max. I HATE GREMLINS !!!!!!!!!!!!
