Oil drain replacement Stock S4 TII

Hello I am searching for the proper AN oil flange to replace the stock turbo oil drain. I ported my wastegate and when trying to bold everything back together, I wasn't able to bolt the two damn bolt of the oil drain, to the front cover. I didn't want to remove the radiator coolant hose, and it just became overly frustrating to be swearing for two hours at the oil drain (I know I look retarded), as I was never able to bolt it together.

I removed everything and realized that the oil drain flexible part was crushed, and trying to fix it just made everything worse. So I need to change it, but I would like to upgrade it to AN fittings, rather than waiting for Mazda to order the desired part.

So my question is: Will I be able to keep the stock heat shield, does any company do a replacement, and if not, what are the fitting size to upgrade to AN fitting. I do not mean the AN size, but the flange that can be bolted to the turbo and to the front cover, as I already know that -10 is sufficient.

Thank you!

ATP turbo sells several varieties of T4 sized drain flanges with AN or NPT threads. I believe there is a thread in the archives convering AN conversion of stock turbo drains. The area there is VERY tight so with the additional fitting size of AN, the heat shields need to be modified.

I lost my drain tube after getting my bnr turbo. Ive tried a few flanges for that one without success. I tried Himni and ATPturbos as well as a few other ones from summit and jegs, but couldnt get any to clear my turbo, all those -an flanges are bulkier than the stock flanges. I ended up luckily eventually finding a new drain pipe, ill try and locate the p/n again. It was a PITA to get back on, my flanges didnt line up by a half inch or so. I eventually got it clamped to where i could bolt things up. Did i mention it really sucked? alot. If you find a good replacement setup, post back with your findings!

*atkins rotary has the drain tube available. p/n N318-14-290A

Mine is leaking, and I almost suspect the flex pipe and not the gasket. I not sure if I want to spend the money on nice an fittings. If I were to redo it I would probably get weld on male -8 somewhere further down the pipe easy to get a wrench on for easy removal

I think the only solution is to keep the stock pipe, I wasn't able to fit any AN fittings between the oil exit and the base of the turbo. I think the only way is to weld on to the original part, but it got too complicated. I ordered the OEM oil drain pipe from the dealership. If anybody know a way to do it in AN fittings I would also like to know how!

I hope the new Oem will line up properly...

You would have to buy the weld on an fittings. You would use the factory 2 bolt flange at the turbo and at the front cover. The fittings would be welded a few inches down the flange

What the hell is the problem, with this bitch of a hose! I manage to bolt it back using a c-clamp, holding it together, otherwise my only solution was to remove the engine to work at a decent height. I never had any problems doing my own mechanic, but I must say that I swore at that hose! It feels stupid to put that much efforts on something normally so easy.

Is your turbo clocked slightly off?

Sounds like the turbo may be rotated.

Or you have mixed S4/S5 parts.

I did not mix S4 and S5 parts, it was all on the same car at first except the hose, that was exactly the same than the old one. I may have rotated the turbo a bit, but it would be a millimeter. I've put a mark and took pictures to make sure it would be clocked properly and everything lined up like before disassembly.

As I got a slight doubt, I will mount the intercooler back to make sure everything line up. Maybe it moved while I was tightening the nuts, I hope not. Let's just hope you are wrong, I don't want to undo it all.

I just thread everything down a little so it wiggles a lot then tighten it down, but then again that could be the cause of my flex hose failure

i tried to change my oil drain, and i think the turbo needs to come off. the drain hose also take a 45 degree bend toward the front of the car, because the manifold is right there, so well at least my aftermarket hose barb wouldn't fit anyways
