NY oil cooler lines

I'm currently pulling my s4 n/a engine swapping in A s5 tii. When I pulled the s5 I cut the oil lines cause the cooler was damaged and I needed to pull it in a hurry. Since then I've stripped down the tii engine and have the oil lines attached still. I don't want to cut the lines on the s4 cause that cooler is in good shape. I have tried to disconnect the lines on the s5 block but with no luck. I haven't tried to use a pipe for leverage yet. should i use the pipe? just being careful drift car on a budget.
