Unhappy oil + Coolant

well i just did a radiator swap [stock for stock, had a jb welded sensor on original and that made holes]
well, i drained the original coolant into an oil change pan. i tryed cleaning out the inside of the oil pan [it's like a bowl on top with two drains going inside to a tank] i was spraying water and shaking it around til the water coming out the drain hole was clean. i drained my coolant into the pan, then my old man drained the pan into a coolant bottle. when adding the coolant, i could see globs of oil in it =[ [he's thinking its not gonna do anything]
and seeing i don't have a leak, the add coolant light keeps going off. i burped the rad, and checked the hoses. the only thing i have a prob with was the oring in the filler neck not fitting right.

Real big questions on that is
Should i flush the radiator to get rid of the coolant?
Do i need to refit the oring in the filler neck? [o ring somehow fit when it was on the rad originally, now it seems too big [both o rings from both radiators]]

i'm using Peak 50/50 antifreeze / coolant

this is very confusing.

are you saying you drained your coolant into an oil pan and then reused it? why in god's name would you do that?

that what my old man did. i was saying to use different coolant. i told him i was going to go get another bottle, but he was insisting on reusing. so should i flush the system then?

Use distilled water too, and the proper coolent/water mixture for your area

Here I can use mostly water.

well i took out the bad coolant, and replaced it with good clean coolant premix
and i told him if any of that oil f's up my engine, he's replacing it
i think i should switch out his coolant with it, see if he wants oil in his coolant.

go for it, my brother drove along time with oil in his coolent, car was nice too

Acrua legend 5 cyl or 6cyl I forget, revved fast, drove fast, always reliable.

It'd only do damage long term anyways, but its funny as hell that your dad thought oil should go in coolant

better yet you should drain his oil, and fill it with coolant, cobalt's suck

i agree lol
thinking about switching his coolant with the oil filled ****. i looked it the bottle and its probably more than 50% oil now. just pitch black in the middle, with green going around the sides.
i hate that little cobalt so much, such a chick car.

I would have went at him with a 2x4 if I was you. Try sticking some oily coolant in my rad and see what happens.
