Oil consumption?

I know these cars eat oil its part of the rotary. My question is whats the average oil consumption for them? Have an 88 rx7 convertable. Ive put 900 city miles on the motor sense i swapped it in, I have no idea how many miles were on the motor, in the 900 miles its consumed less than a quarter of a quart. is this a good thing or a bad thing? should i start mixing gas oil in when i fill it? or is this about average consumption?

thats about average consumption, rotary's are designed to burn oil. If you wanted to prevent this search for disabling the OMP or search Premix

Normal is about a quart per 3,000 miles so you're doing ok.

Overall, mine eats about a quart every oil change (3000 miles).
Not sure if this is a steady state loss or related to engine speed/RPMs...I check the oil every couple of weeks.
