oil

whats the best oil you all would suggest to put in a s5 n/a. i searched and didnt find much. but i still didnt ever find out if full synthetic is ok or not. i remember reading it was never stated from mazda cuz of how full synthetic apparently leaves more carbon when burned. idk something like that. let me know what you guys run and have good results with. i usually am pretty partial to mobil and use to be rotella but i cant find and rotella under 15w 40 anymore. or just straight 30 weight

10W-30 in the winter, 20W-50 in the summer. Any name brand (Castrol, etc.). Honestly I just use whatever oil is on sale when I need it, which is Castrol or Mobile-1 most of the time.

It's actually the recommended weight (by Mazda) for higher climate temperatures. Being that I love in Florida, my RX-7 always got 20W-50, except for one oil change in the winter months.

The synthetic vs. mineral oil debate has been played out ad nauseum. Read everything and make your own judgement.

anything wet and slippery works fine, the engine doesn't seem to care much. i've run 5w-20 at track days in the summer, for a couple summers in a row....

dad spent some time looking for a good oil to put in my 1958 Tr3, and we decided on an availability vs cost vs oil quality basis the castrol HD30 and HD40 are tough to beat.

Props for seaching before asking, but you need to seach a little bit harder. Searching by user name"Icemark", the gift that keeps on giving :

By the way, we're not old. We're just "well seasoned".
