O2 Sensor

How do you tell if its bad, the car seems to run rich alot, I used one of them diagnos computers that connect in the engine bay and test parts and i tested the O2 sensor, it said it was fine which ment the engine flashed Rich/Lean at 2.5K RPM or w/e the diag system said to hold the rpm at.....BUT the ca rwas acting weird the diag system was flashing and clicking to the idle of the car NO Joke it was like engine's idle sound went through the diag system, it prolly is a bad ground I believe since the diag system connects through the car's ground.

Any suggestions?

check the write up on the grounding of the car so that you can make sure all ground points are connected proper and then you should be able to tell if its a bad ground.

I don't understand that post....

However, regarding the O2 sensor, don't bother trying to test it. Just buy a new one for $25 at the auto parts store. Any generic narrowband one wire O2 sensor will do the job.

As for the grounding, disregard all the grounding writeups on this forum. Here's a proper article:

Don't buy an O2 sensor for any specific model of car. Walk in and ask for a "Bosch one wire O2 sensor, the cheapest you have".

I have no idea what your "diag system" is so I can't comment...
