Cool NOS on my n/a...any suggestions?

I was thinking of putting a 70-75 shot of NOS on my n/a.
Wet NOS of course. Any suggestions on what to do? Should I get a shop to do it for me since I don't know how to do it my self?
peace out

get a shop to do it.
Get 3mm apex seals.
ask this question in the SE forum for a guy here that "Claims" to know the secret to the bottle on rexies.

Youll need a fuel computer.

We have a full How-To on or page that Dave did and it is pretty easy to do. Take a look at it and I think you can follow the instructions and be just fine with basic tools. It's under the How-To's section on our site under engine. Hope this helps

S-AFC and nothing more than a 75 shot on an old engine. 100 if the engine is rebuilt recently.

Bwa ha ha ha, no!
3mm seals = no! (these are for racing only, this was VERY bad advice)
fuel computer = no!
shop = no!
wet setup = if you plan on going above 50 hp shots, use wet. Do not use dry, or you'll need bigger fuel injectors.
Never use a dry setup above 75 HP!
S-AFC= no!

What you need: basic knowledge and common sense.
This may help you:
a wet setup takes fuel from your fuel line and manually mixes it with nitrous and jets it into your engine as a fog just before the tb. This means the nitrous/fuel mixture is controlled by the "jets" in your Fogger jet. increase the jet for nitrous increases hp, but also requires a increase in the fuel jetting.
a dry setup sprays in just nitrous, and relies on a computer to spray in extra fuel via the injectors. Not good on a car such as ours where injectors are already pretty stressed.
Go with the wet setup.
A few things you'll want to ensure:
-you have a good fuel pump.
-system wired correctly
-you use a purge valve
-use a FP gauge, an maybe an a/f meter
if the fuel pressure drops, you're jetting in just NOS, so get off the button or you'll detonate
-follow proper jetting numbers via a calculator
-do not hit below 3000 rpm
-do not hit fuel cut with it on
-only operate at WOT

good ideas:
-bottle heater
-fuel pump upgrade (keep fp the same, but get more volume)
-WOT microswitch
-stay under 125 hp on stock ports, I say nothing over

more q's? I'll get em. But most of the above answers are just plain horrible, IMO.

NOS is in the mail, baby! (for a TII)

Good, thanks for that.
There are specific threads where you can argue against the use of nitrous. Leave the war out of here, please.
Besides, nitrous is a great power ADDER (not substitute), and very safe when used with someone who knows what they are doing.
You'd need it to keep up with me.... probably a 250 shot

easy to do and fun to drive

Intake and exhaust mods are all I've done.
60 shots your easly faster than a TII.
Installation is very easy.
My kit number is below.
Maybe a higher volume fuel pump. But I'm running stock and all is well. The instructions that come with the kit give all the info you need.
Have fun

All good ideas I would ad to this... dont forget retard timing atleast 2-5 degrees for every 50hp shot, and your going to need to tap the foggers into yout intake manifold, if your handy @ home is not a really big job....

I see there is a 86-91 na specific kit from NO systems, is that the hot ticket? Or just the generic jettable 25-100 kit, the nos systems are on special at the local speed shop, thinking about maybe picking one up so my N/a doesn't feel so lame, they have just a generic kit there, and its got the big chrome bottle woo hoo, F&F here I come...Max

OK, I am or will be in the very near future (as in the mail) running full intake and full exhaust (filter, air inlet arm, ported manifolds, header, presilencer, N1 catback) and I have a/f gauge, and will be getting a S-AFC next week. Am I safe to run a 75 shot of wet n2o? 1991 n/a w/ 100k on VERY strong engine.

That may be true. But it is like when you say you need a Band-Aid. Band-Aid is a brand name for plastic bandages. Most people dont say they need a bandage, Band-Aid is the accepted term and people know what it means. As such, people know what you mean when you are running NOS.

No kidding.
Everyone says Kleenex, too, but its actually facial tissue.

91REX... what kind of car do you drive? I've never heard of a REX...
Maybe it would be safe to assume an RX-7, since people generally understand the nickname?
If you know REX is a RX-7, why the need for me to comment?
Same thing as NOS.... if you know it is nitrous, why bitch?
