Question is this normal???

so i start her up after 8 hours of sitting, in the cold windy night, i have the 3k start up as usual cuz its so cold, after 5 mins of warming it up i smell a slight scent of something burnt/burning, i look under the car and the manifold/downpipe area is glowing red, (87 base NA), looks cool and all but is this normal????

also i have screeching noise in my engine bay, sounds similar like when u have really bad breaks but in the engine bay, i assume its my pulleys/belts , can anyone help me verify what it is ?? thanks in advance!

does the squeeling increase when you gas it? Does it stop when the belts get hot....like once you have been driving for a while. Is your coolant belt light on? check the tention on the belts, if it was something more important than that, the car wont run for long. Because the 13B was made with peripheral exhaust ports (unlike the MSP) the pulses the motor makes are hot and fast and hard. It can turn a set of headers really red and hot with revs.. I have never checked a manifold cause I hate em and don't have one, but I would asume its normal if the car drives okay and does not burn down Just make sure nothing like an O2 sensor wire or vacume hose is near the manifold. oohhh... and check your belts for wear too, and if you are not running an O2 pump, get a dual belt pulley. Higgi has rotor shaped ones that are the bomb!

glowing red manifold and downpipe? I've heard of the downpipe glowing red hot, but not the manifold. It shouldn't be any problem.
