noob ? s4 front cover

noob ? s4 front cover

well to start i am new to this forum and ive been doing some research. i want to put an 86(s4) motor into my 91(s5). i know i need all the accessories off the s5 but y do i need to swap front covers? i am going to be running premix so cant i just disable the mechanical omp and not have to swap covers?

if you are using a S5 ECU, then yes, you need the S5 front cover and a functioning S5 MOP on the S4 motor.

well 2 things. if u are using the s4 ecu and are going to splice it into the s5 then no u dont have to change covers.

and 2nd if u are using a s5 radiator and are going to use the old water pump off your s5 engine then u are going to have to swap a s5 front cover because the s5 waterpump wont fit well on the s4 front cover

carmen ive got both s4 and s5 rads and i dont plan on splicing any thing. i am not that good with electronics

Why go s5 to s4? Everybody else does the opposite.

well i am doing it for the only logical reason. To get my car on the road. I am going to go turbo eventually but i need a running car if i want to make money to do the swap to turbo.

well i dont know xactly how hard it will be but i will know as soon as i get the $$$$. i am not going to turbo the n/a im going to swap to a turbo II but im sure it will be tough

??? what i am going n/a to tII. i want to buy a jdm motor and rebuild it but thats too far into the future. Meanwhile before i get this motor in i would like to delete the rats nest maybe someone can point me in the right direction??? please
