No Spark
I just recently bought an 1986 RX7 N/A. I was told when I bought it from a friend, that it was hessitating down the road then when he got it home it just died, and never started again.
Now I am not sure how accurate his story is, but I trying to figure out why it won't start.
I have no spark. I hooked up a inline spark tester to L1, but it does not spark. There is 12 volts going to the coils (Black Wire with Yellow Tracer).
I took the fuel rail return line off, and there appears to be fuel.
Now I just did a compression test. In the first rotor I am getting around 80 PSI, and in the second rotor, I am getting 40 PSI. I relize that this is not good, but I still need to find out why there is no spark before I attempt to rebuild it.
I am a mechanic but I work on the flat 4 motors, and have no experience with rotary motors.
Any help would be appreciated on my next step.
Thank you,
Bryan
