No Spark
Hey all, my friend just put a engine in his car and he has a problem. He is getting no spark from the coil pack. Anyone know what this could be ? He has all emission removed, dont know if that would effect it. So if you have any suggestions please let me know asap. He wants to get his 7 running. Oh ya its an S4 N/A
Thanks

1.3L is not that small
had that prob for a month... found out the AFM was bad and took out the ECU... check both of those First.... put a voltmeter on the brown and white wire coming out of the pressure sensor, turn the key to ON and see if you are reading 4.5 - 5.0 volts... it not then your ecu is toast... find out why it crapped and then get another one

That said....check the ENGINE FUSE in the interior. There is a picture of the fuse box on this site.
If the ENGINE FUSE is good, then make sure the two EGI fuses are good in the engine bay. There is a picture of that fuse box on this site also. I'm talking about the cover of the fuse box in both cases above. The cover shows what fuse does what.
One reallllllllll reallllllll easy way to tell if there is any spark, is to crank the engine over. Before you crank the engine over, STARE at the RPM needle. IF there is spark, then the needle will bump up just a tash each time you crank the engine. Not a big jump, but more or less a twitch. No twitch.....no igniton. That's a General's rule. Long rule the General!
