No power steering, will 17 inch rims make it harder to steer?

It's my wifes car and we want to put some wheels on it for her,but she's little and it doesn't have p/s.She can manage now but will 17's make it even harder to steer?

Was thinking about 17's with 215/45's...sound right?

Oh yeah,it there a certain offset that will make the wheels look better on the car??

thats the exact tire\wheel combo i have right now. i think it looks great without soacers but thats up to your taste. as for the steering, what realy determines difficulty is the contact patch. i asume you have stock 205 wide tires on there now so if she can handle that without p/s than the 17's shouldn't be an issue. rightnow i have my p/s belt off (havent bothered pulling the pump out yet) and it just a little tuf at a stendstill, but i think thats because i'm still churning fluid through all that plumbing. anyway i say go for the 17's and post a pic when you do.

no i dont have a pic. but it's a red '91 n/a with ten spoke aluminum enkies looks sweet. i'll get a picture up a soon as i get a little more aptitude with my computer. as for tires, i highly recomend kumho ecsta supras. they have excelent grip, are very predictably under hard driving, and have awesome wet traction (we definetly need it here in florida) go for the 215/45's becuse they fill out fender more and will result in a slightly taller final drive ration which will slightly increase milage. i'm gona go with 205/40's when mine wear out beacuse i want a shorter final ratio and dont have the money to buy a 4.33 ring and pinion.

not too expensive if you can pull the parts yourself from a junkyard or get them used from a forum member. i know hypntyz7 has parted out cars before and sold what you would need for the conversion for probably under 200 bucks + the shipping. try PM'ing him to ask about it. as for benefits...well better wheel choice i think, the 5 lugs have bigger and better brakes as well.

youd have to get all new hubs and rpobobly front spindles. lots of money$$$, unless you get realy lucky at the junkyard. there is nothing wrong with the 4 bolt, nless you wanted to upgrade to the 4 piston calipers but thats a different issue

Didn't all s5's come with 5 bolt ?

So if yours is a 91 then you already have the 5 bolt hubs
