No PCV! What to do with oil neck nipple?

I was planning on removing the PCV since there is no longer a good way to control it. Well now there is that nipple on the oil neck. Should I just plug it up? What are some draw-backs to removing this? I know it removes fumes and moisture from the oil system. Are these major issues?

Put a hose on it and point it downwards. They tend to smoke with it hooked up.

sounds almost to good to be true. If just one more person can agree to just running a hose from that nipple and pointing it downwards I will be a happy guy today. I hope you're right Felix!

As odd as it sounds, I plugged mine up to start with. My car smoked like the motor was blown. So I uncapped it and put the old vacuum line on it and all the smoke went away.

I sure hope it is that easy. I have a brand new PCV but I now have no way to activate it. If someone knows how I can make it work with vacuum from the intake manifold, I could do that. But it has a nipple on top and bottom so it might be more complex than that.

On my S5 motor, there's two nipples. One on the oil filler neck that runs to the purge valve, and the other that directly runs to the charcoal canister. I left the line running to the charcoal canister, but blocked the oil filler nipple (I have to have a 1qt. canister for any engine vents), and no smoke what so ever.

So you can either block it (as long as you have the line going to the charcoal canister, or leave that little rubber hose on, and point it down.
