No oilpressure

I've a problem with my fc turbo.
It's not making any oilpressure, when I start it, it goes up to 2kg/cm but ones its warmed up it drops to just above 0.
What could be the problem?
Please help.

The problem could be the front cover o-ring has failed http://mazdatrix.com/faq/oring.htm

Or it could be the gauge sending unit, unless you are using a mechanical gauge. It could also be the oil pick-up tube is crushed against the bottom of the pan, if you have dented it somehow. The pick up could also be clogged with RTV if you have had it rebuilt lately and there was far too much sealant used on the pan. It could even be the oil pressure regulator has failed....There are lots of things it could be. Letting us know a little history, like when was the last time it had good pressure and what was done to the car since is a good place to start.

Put in another oilsender: just the same problem, one's it's warmed up it drops to just above 0, if i rev it, it rises a little and than drops again.

We have put in a new clutch with pilotbearing and another turbo, will have to look if it one of those that is leaking. But probalby it's gonna be the o-ring.

go to ebay and search for a compression test kit . and test ur engine or go to a mechanic and have him test it but he'll proabbly charge u the same amount of money to test it as it does to buy one and its simple take off a plug , plug the kti in pull the egi fuse and crank away for a few seconds but make sure someone does the cranking for you.i forgot which one if trailing or leading but u have to test both housings . and if anything below 80 psithen ur seals are no bueno. my engine only has 80,000 original miles and the retard who had it before me never took care of the engine so now im gonna rebuild

Okay, now this is a useful piece of info. Mounted at the slave cylinder on the trans is a Oil Sender Condenser, many people fail to reconnect this when installing the trans after a clutch job. This will effect oil pressure gauge operation.

Engine compression has nothing to do with oil pressure.

engine compression was fine last time I checked.
Do you have any pics of where I can find the Oil sender condenser?
Can't find it in the FSM.
Thanx for the help btw.

you can try using a oil pressure tester to see if you are actually getting any pressure from the oil at all.
You unplug the oil sending unit, and get the right fitting to fit in the same hole, turn car on and see if pressure builds. If it builds then the sender unit is faulty and you need another, if the pressure is still low, check the oring in the front cover.

Found it, but need to know on which harness to connect it.
Do i connect it on the one going to the transmission or the one going to the front of the car, running under the trailing coils?

Use a volt gauge between the oil pressure sensor (Under the oil filter. Looks like a fat headed mushroom.) and the Positive battery terminal.
Or use Ohms between the oil pressure sensor and ground... Either or.

Rev the engine and the volt gauge reading should fluctuate up and down.
No Bueno? Then try replacing the sensor or look into oil pressure problems in the engine.

If this goes well, hook the oil pressure wire straight to ground.
The pressure gauge should go WAY UP...

No Bueno?
Replace the gauge.

Transmission, like I said before.

The condensor under the trailing coils connects to the chassis harness right by the brake master cylinder( if your car is LHD)

If it was on the car prior to the clutch job, then it is probably dangling near the starter and just needs to be bolted back to the slave cylinder.

IL No Oil Pressure too

I have a similar problem, I took my car out of storage for 2 years from being in the military, waited till it was warm enough and started her up, all was fine. Next day i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cluster dropped, and i was like uh oh! I know that i have oil, I tested the pressure gauge with a volt meter and have like 13. 8 volts and when I rev the motor voltage goes down(fluctuates) so I am thinking that is good!! I connected the gauge wire to ground and it goes all the way up, so I think that is good.

I then connect the wire back to the sending unit and the gauge goes up, then back down, and sometimes works periodically. So does any one have an idea what the issue can be!!

thanks

In my case it was the frontcover O-ring.
