I talked to my freind and he said we can paint the car either today (Wed.) or Thur. so it will be done soon!!!!

As for the question of material brands, just any brand of fiberglass cloth and resin, the kind that I got was Bondo brand I think.

west systems makes the best epoxy...in my opinion. For the mat, I'd go to a boating supply store

Can't wait to see some pics of it done! Are you leaving the s4 rub strips on it, switching to s5, or leaving them off?

If you PM me your email addy, I'll send you the video of JJ shoosting the shist out of that white vert.

I've also subscribed to this thread, so I won't space it off for a week again, lol.

Hey just a question but is there any parts body kits from over here in Japan that you might want for your car? I know you are into the one of a kind thing and I dont know how many people have JDM things. Just a thought.

I have a full set of the S5 moldings to match the S5 rear bumper.

I will be running them with just some H7's for now but if heat is a problem I can find a better plexiglas I am sure.

Wouldn't lexan be more resilient against heat and cracking than plexiglass?

Yes, Lexan is what I plan to make my next set out of. The covers that I have now are the original scratched up prototype ones, and it was quicker/easier/cheaper to experiment with cheap plexiglas, but I plan to remake them from lexan as soon as I get other things right on the car. Lexan will also be better against scratches too. I evn thought of covering them with automotive clear since it is easy to wax/buff if it gets minor sand scratches.

The Border replica front end looks way better with those headlights than the RE-front end, in my opinion.

Did I miss a pic of the aluminum bezel in your sig, somewhere?

I sent the vid, lemme know if you got it!

For the lenses- there are several companies that make scratch resistant polycarbonate sheet for racing applications.

Percy's Speed Glass is an example.

Check out Summit and such if you are interested.

Square thoes up a little and shorten em, i still say the best look is cutting out the top of the FTP lenses and taking out the light motors, looks plain awsome like that, but good way to be orgional, we need some different setups.
