Check the Pins at the AFM, also check the vaccum line by the sensor by your air filter.
I just made the same mistake and when I pulled my stock air box I pulled a vacuum hose for a sensor so my car wouldn't hold idle and also the fact that I pulled a wire out of place in one of the pins on the AFM plunger.
look on the picture and look close I put a red ring around the boost sensor (I think thats what its called. )
and for the second Hose that connected to the stock airbox go to autozone/kragen and get a cheap 10 bucks airfilter.

That second post the middle picture is that the hose to the brake booster. That would be a major vacuum leak cause the engine to run but not idle. I would look for where that hose plugs in and connect the hose. I think its on the intake manifold firewall side. not sure on na motors but thats its location on the turbo . damen thats the map sensor and if the vacuum line is not attached you will notice a big lose in power your ecu will think your at WOT at all times. That would kill the motor at idle also

the middle pic the hose on that was hooked to the stock intake ima check the afm plug and see cuz i un hooked it to see if i could use it on the intake pipe. Has anybody put a hole in the fender to get more air? alot of cars have a hole ot get air but the fc has a pretty enclosed engine it doesnt seem like you could get fresh air without cutting something i dont wanna mess with the fan shroud is there another route i know im not the first to try this so im wondering what problems ima run into if i do start hacking into the metal. I seen vented headlights and i dont know where to get em you guys have been alot of help thanx for everthin

1st picture on the 2nd post, if that hose goes down below the headlight you dont need to block it off. you can just leave it out of the way somewhere.
why did you hook that kit up like that? i think the metal pipe should be right after the elbow that hooks up to the throttle body, and then the afm should be down where it usually is, and the cone attached right to the afm.

search for prelude and cold air intake. youll find some posts by ddub and others who made a cold air intake by removing the windshield wiper fluid bottle and cutting a bigger hole there i believe. search prelude cause he used a prelude cold air intake kit.

you UNSCREWED afm plug!? why???
you should really hook up the piping the right way. im pretty sure thats the bac valve air line that i said before. thats an open vacuum leak.

I slapped on a Electric fan. doing this it opened up my engine bay a lot.
"i unscrewed it instead of unplugging it cuz im retarded so your saying if the afm was buggered up the car wouldn't run at all?
What!!! well this was pretty obvious because I had the same issue well sorta. Did your car smoke up when you tried starting it? Umm take some Pictures and this time some thing bigger.
