no idea about no idle

i am working on a 87 na for a freind of mine. we have removed every single vacume line imagimable except the fuel presure regulator and still cant find the vacume leak. when we start the car and spray starting fluid under the manifold it reves sky high. so we know its around the manifold. there are no visible cracks in the manifold its self. and we have permitexed just about every seam in the manifold. i am running out of ideas. please help!!!

You sure your not getting overspray into the intake? Or you still on the stock airbox..

Could be a vaccuum leak at a gasket such as the meeting of the LIM and UIM.. Permatexing around the seams or actually taking off the Manifolds to put new gasket material in?

Aah yes. Amur_ had that problem. The injector o-rings over the years get ROCK hard. I was there when they were removed. I was shocked they were still making any seal at all.

Might want to look into that.

Order them from Mazda, they aren't expensive.

Be sure to lube the grommits and o-rings when you reinstall them. I use vascelene.

Valsoline!! No!

I might be wrong but i don't think using any petrolium product on any rubber part is good. Again i could be wrong but petrolium product tend to make rubber swell. But is the injector gromet different? SInce is used in the fuel system.

Hi guys... I'm the guy he's talking about with the (former) vacuum leak. I figured he'd be bashing me on the forums for being so stupid so I figured I'd step up and defend myself.
First of all, I have had all my injectors sent to RC Engineering (a godsend for dirty injectors). I sent them in pairs, secondaries first, then the primary injectors. When I sent the secondaries they were returned with a shiny new gromit (among other shiny new things) pre attached to the base of the injector. Therefore I thought nothing of just dropping them in, no problem. My primaries however, for some strange reason, were not returned with a nice shiny new gromit. Why, I do not know but I dropped them in just like the last pair nonetheless.
Anyway, in the end I am only half at fault and could care less if slow87turbo (jerk) is gonna give me **** for the next year and a half (which I'm sure he is) because my car runs now.

ONE MORE THING!!!! I ABSOLUTELY MUST THANK HUGUES!! WITHOUT YOU MENTIONING INJECTOR GROMITS IT WOULD HAVE NEVER TRIGGERED MY MEMORY THAT I NEVER RECIEVED NEW ONES. THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES OVER!!!!!!!!!!!1
