the taurus tray is a good option (one I may try in the future) but here is another that I use. One little screw holds this holder that I got at Walmart for like 3$. It hold the cup very well and never spills. It is also not a big reach to get at it, never had a problem...well except for the one time I was racing this civic and needed a sip at 120MPH hehehe...

Not so sure how well that'll work with a full glove box. But w/ a empty one that would work good.

actually I was surprised at how little room it takes. Our gloveboxes are bigger then they look and the way it closes is well suited to this idea, I never had to take a thing out of the glovebox and sometimes it is full of crap. The cupholder I got was called "junior" something tho, there was a regular one that was quite bigger that would not have worked as well.

This is not good option for most people but flat space (enough to put cup holder) will appear in front of the shifter when you remove radio surround and ash tray :-)

I am so pissed.

My butt is all wet with mountain dew and now I have to re-clean my interior.
I need a freaking cup holder. I wasn't even trying to drink it, I was just trying to keep it until I got to work. I am not meant for the city or office life....

Used the adjustable stalk from an old cellphone mount, screwed into the trans tunnel. Bought a cheap plastic cupholder (the kind that hangs and then falls off the door), cut the top of it, drilled a mounting hole. I now have a cupholder that can be adjusted, relocated, and clamped to sit almost anywhere from the console to the center of the passenger seat!

I picked up a cup holder at Wal Mart. It has space for 2 cups/bottles and a middle area for misc. crap. It has the bottom wedge out so it fits snug between the passenger seat and the transmission tunnel. Fits real nice and nothing spills. It was like $4-5.

I put on in my glove compartment, much like the taurus one. I got it in Japan for like 500 yen.

I custom fabbed sliding cup holders underneath the passenger seat. I slide it out and it *clicks* into place. Then it is sturdy enough to hold all manners of drinks (well at least a Big Gulp)

Thumbs up

So simple, all you need is somewhere for the driver to put their drink, the passenger has free hands to hold theirs.
All itll cost you is 3 dollars for the roll of masking tape.

I used to have one of the plastic console cupholders that you could buy at any auto parts store. It fit perfectly ontop of the bin covers so I drilled down through both of them and attached the console with some nuts and bolts. All I would need to do is reach around the passenger seat to get my drink and I still have a functional bin for storage. A sliding toolbox in the hatch took it out of commission though.

On the rare occasion I drive with a drink I usually hold it in my right hand on top of the shift ****, with my index finger, middle finger, and thumb on the drink and my ring and pinky on the shift ****. it's pretty cool. I thought about it when watching DirectFreak's dyno video when the guy is holding some kind of controller in his hand and shifting at the same time.

But yeah coffee sucks when driving, especially the coffee cups with the "spill proof" lids that always end up covering my crotch with coffee. The Mugs (thermoses? not sure what they're actually called) from starbucks are great. Only ones I've ever used that didn't spill when turned on it's side
