Angry No Answer Yet!!!

I have a 1988 RX7, and just recently the oil seals have started to go bad...the car is burning oil...I have been adding 3 quarts of oil every week...how long will the car continue to run? Currently it's running fine...it starts up with no problem, but I just wanna know what type of time frame I have...also with winter coming, will I run into more problems with it starting????

I say more like 3 months... MAX. If it is using 3q a WEEK, those seals are FRIED.

if its your rotor oil seals then it will run forever, the only thing that will keep it from running is if you run it out of oil, or you get tired of driving in a giant cloud of smoke

Use 20w50 oil, add one shot of "Motor Honey" and avoid high rev delerations. That will buy you some time..

Just for grins - run it through an emissions check. That will recalibrate those SOB's.

Thats a little messed up if you sell the car to someone without telling them it has problems...

I'll take the 5th on that one.
If it's simply worn out, it's better to fix the motor. If you have had serious overheating, swap the motor. If a good enough deal comes along, trade it.
