NGK BUR9EQ (2) and BUR7EQ (2). Each spark plug will either have a T or L stamped on it for leading or trailing.

or you could get the 9's all around because the 7's are more prone to fouling.

For a unmodifed port non turbo engine there is no reason to use the 9's in the leading position and if they are used, it will lead to more fouling in cold weather situations.

Oh, I don't know if it is mod'd or not... but I see a lot of people blindly recommending the 9's for the the leadings and then people having trouble starting or running when cold before the plugs come up to temp.

I am more assuming a stock car if he has never changed the plugs before

yeah I see what your saying, it probably isn't modified unless he bought it like that. I just automatically ASSuME that everyone is modified on this board, lol

they will come pregaped (actually there is nothign to gap) and the 7's are for leading and 9's are for trailing. If you go to your nearest autozone or the like and ask for sparkplugs they will have the ngk's and it will tell them witch ones are for witch. Good luck. And yeah don't listen to me, I'm retarded

Yep that one at the top looks old, as you can see it has carbon deposits on it from running rich witch is normal for a rotary engine. Don't know if you’re into your 7 or not but the best thing you can do for it is the scheduled maintenance, and do it religiously! If you keep it happy it will keep you happy, kind of like a good relationship

i think this answers that question...

Im not retarded or anything. It just happens to be the first time Ive changed them. I dont know when the last time the plugs were changed so I figured it would be good to do plus for the experience. In the haines manual it says to change them like every 30k or something...sounded like a little much to me. how often should they be replaced?

So which plugs did you actually end up using? I need to change mine too, and am not sure what to go with.

NGK BUR9EQ (2) and BUR7EQ (2), they are the factory plugs. If youre heavily modded you might wanna pick something else though, Im not sure.

Barely modded, actually. So then, during installation, the 9s go on the top, and 7s in the bottom, correct?

Some say to change them every second oil change, but I'd reccomend somewhere between 8 and 10k miles. Maybe even 15 if they still look good.

yes. Unless you're heavily modded, Please always use the factory recommended stuff.

And even if you are modded... then you can make adjustments, like with spark plug choice...but research and find out WHY you are doing these changes... not just because some "guru" says you should...

Educate yourself, man...
