Newbie question on changing pulleys

I'm trying to change the alternator puller to a double pulley, and i can't get it to stop turning when i'm trying to take off the nut. I know it mite be a stupid question, but if anyone can help that be great. Thanks.

If you don't have access to one, see if you have a large enough C clamp that you can stretch around the whole thing and clamp down the pulley to hold it.

What i did to get it loose, i took off the alternator and took it to the shop and told them if they could do me a favor... in about 30 seconds they were done... just leave a tip...

i heard the double pully creates some issues...idk though...

Any shop will have one and should be willing to zizz off that nut for a few bucks/beers.
Sometimes there's just no way to get around using the proper tool, so you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

The free, online FSM has a Engine Electrical section that shows how to remove the pulley on a alternator.

maybe im wrong (i tried to find it but no luck)
but i heard the double pullys create an idle problem...

I never had any problem with my double alternator pulley on two different cars and I've never heard of anyone else having the problem either.

what is the purpose of upgrading to a double pully btw...

when you take off your air pump. its a replacement to add more tension to the water pump. so that means your alternator will have two belts
