newbie engine cleaning question

This is probably a real dumb question but, I'm rebuilding my first engine and need some help. What is the best way to remove the carbon buildup on the rotors and housings? Is there anything that I shouldn't do?

kerosene too

you have to spray carb cleaner on the parts that have been cleaned with kersosene though...as it helps in the drying of it

elbow grease

Be carefull with the cleaners you use.

Some like the Castrol purple lightning stuff will stain unfinished aluminum.

PM Kevin of Rotary Resurrection. He rebuild them for a living. He could probably send you off in the right direction.

BTW the purple lightning stuff from Checker ROCKS!

It did stain my Atkins Rotor Oil cap but it cleans like a damn monkey on crack!!!

A bucket of carb cleaner to dip your rotors into. I cant remember the name of the one I used, but it came in a container that looked like a paint bucket. Worked well well enough.
