Newb turbo ?

Alright ive got my JDM TII on the way. The turbo i decided to run is the T2860R by Garrett. My problem is that all the turbo manifolds i found are for a T4 style flange. Is there anywhere to buy an adapter plate or a different manifold?

There is a reason most manifolds are T4. Everything else is too small. A t2 turbo is smaller than the stock unit!

Piston engines make 10 hp per cfm while rotarys make 7.5 for the same amount of air. This is why you will see people running turbos rated for more than they're making.

Just a larger turbo, injectors and some kind of fuel computer.

well i guess the route i was gonna go was a GT series turbo, Corksport FMIC 720cc primaries, 1080 secondaries, a Microtech ECU and a walbro 255 with a full 3 inch custom exhaust. Would streetporting be neccesary and what kinda numbers would that put me at?

If you want to make 300HP, then the GT30R is a great choice. It will be very responsive and is about the smallest turbo you will want on a 13B. Won't make much more then 300HP but if that's all you want then it's an ideal turbo. Speed Machine sells a bolt on kit.

nice, the GT30R does look like a good option, since im more into quick response for the shorter autox tracks.

A p trim wheel with at least a 1.0 a/r turbine housing and for 300hp a 50-52mm compressor wheel.

Now other people will say different, but the small turbine housings are NOT good for spool. They create lots of back-pressure in the manifold, making overlap even worse and raise EGT's sky-high (learned this the hard way). Also, a huge 60 or 70mm compressor wheel is not needed for 300 or even 400 hp. Putting a huge compressor adds more rotating weight and has more surface area for friction, causing slower spool. I have done 350 hp on a 51mm wheel and spool was awesome.

General rule is to go as BIG as you can on the hot side for the power you want, and as small as you can go on the compressor.
