Soul Assassins car went 9.9 in the 1/4 mile before it was parted out.

It was streetable.

LOL, fast? A street-legal 88 TII (10th Anniversary actually) set the world land speed record for a "stock engined" car at Bonneville in 1988.

Speed: 191.115 mph @ 7200 rpm

Yes, you are the new owner of a potential monster. Be careful.

IS there an article detailing that specific car? I just want to read about it.

Yes, but I will have to look it up, scan it, and post it. Until then, here are some basic stats: Stock block, Garrett T04E "57" .60 AR turbo, and darn near every HKS product available at that time. Estimated at 350 bhp net @ 7200 rpm with racing fuel and premix. The emissions controls were removed, and it had a removable parachute, but was licensed and "street legal".

It wasn't street legal, though.

Well, thankx for the warm welcome, I think....... I feel a lot better about my purchase now. As long as this thing is faster than one of my other cars it'll be just fine. I'll pull the motor out tomorrow and take it down to the Mazda Shop to have them port the ........ports.

Now..... How hard is it to put together a three rotor?

I am sure if you slapped a 20b in a second gen and pimped it to hell and back you could break those speed records...

Edit: Of course Ive seen a few second gens doing high speed runs (200+ mph) and flipping Id be sketchy about doing that lol.

Yahoo keeps changing their policy, so please let me know if this works or not. Basically, I would like to know if you can read the article through your internet browser, or at least download the pics and read them with a different graphics program.

BTW, the pics are in the Magazines folder, but feel free to view or download whatever you like. Oh, and please don't send me email at that address, as I only log into that account when I do things like this, and I may not get your email for a month or two.

Very hard. The better professional speed shops do this to show off their talent. Don't try this at home.

You can get a used 20B-REW 3-rotor engine for about $4,000, and then spend another $6,000 - 10,000 on the massive amounts of work required to make it work in an RX-7, or pay a professional shop about $35,000 for a very nice conversion. See our 20B forum for more discussion on 3-rotor engines.
