New turbo II, dont know what to do with it

i just bought an 87 turbo II and i dont know where i wanna go with it. I would like the pwnage and heavy-hitting raw power of an FD but in the subtle styling of the FC. I'm just about as broke as a person can be, but I dont expect miracles overnight. any ideas?

1. welcome to the rotary expierience
2. do the usual tune up: plugs, wires, fluids and such
3. check the FAQ'S
4. search feature, is pretty handy to.

a white t2!? you need a project redsuns sticker!!! soo kewwwll!!

anyway, a large intake will do you wonders, as well as a full exhaust with emissions removal. you can only get a full exhaust if you port your turbos wastegate though, or else your boost might shoot up to something rediculous (18) uncontrollably. Then, you get more boost with these mods so you need a fuel cut defenser so the car doesnt cut fuel past 8psi. then you need fuel mods with the extra boost so you dont blow uop everything.

another route could be new tires, some suspension mods (sitffer springs/struts, swaybars), a new clutch and lightweight flywheel.

the best option though its probably some chrome 22's and a full audio system with mad bass n' sheeyat.

^ I agree start with the raliabilty mods, compression check, tune-ups to get all the quirks out of the way so can start having fun. Good Luck.

look for used parts, down near the bottom of the rx7club.com home page. exhaust mods probably are the best area to increase power, down pipe and straight pipe replacing the catalytic convertor (quick+cheap, 25? hp).

i was thinking about a clutch and lighter (maybe 12 lbs) flywheel, then rb exhaust but ive heard that you also need fuel cut defender and a ported wastegate and a bigger fuel pump and stuff like that before you go with the rb exhaust. also is it true that it adds 59 horsepower??

yea the extra boost from increased airflow gives it somewhat close to 59 hp, but u need the bigger fuel pump fuel cut defenser, port your wastegate, and boost controller to raise boost properly. still id recommend getting reliability mods and tuneups before anything else. Check out my signature. that is what I bought.
