do u have brake fluid in your clutch master cylinder? its the little reservoir at the upper right corner. if not put some, then move the clutch peddle up and down with your hand. you should probably bleed the entire system afterwards.

There are only a few things it could be, master cylinder or slave cylinder, in the worst case senerio it could be a collaped pressure plate or brocken clutch fork. If the clutch fork is cracked it is most likely due to a broken pitman ball that it is supposed to rest on.

if they are the original clutch and slave they're probably in questionable condition anyways... i just got done fixing the same problem but intermittant i think it was an internal master cylinder leak past the primary cup. i replaced both cylinders with all new tokico units for about ~$80 from BAP/GEON as they were rusty and ugly anyways... works like new!

can you get any pressure? if you finally get pressure from pumping the pedal does it fade soon after? probably the master but i think you should replace both at the same time.

side note; first i attempted to take mine apart and clean it, which worked for a month of relatively light driving, but the internals soon deteriorated even further, cuasing problems again and the fluid ended up black so i wouldn't recommend it.

master cylinder. if it was the slave cylinder then it would most likely drop the fulid level b/c it would most likley be leaking. i replaced mind for 50 bucks from autozone. Hit ebay, i saw a few on there before.

good point. damn 50 bucks? you guys don't have bap/geon where you live? $40 for the master and $29 for the slave and it was tokico... my math is off i meant 70 for the pair not 80. they often have really good prices on high quality stuff there.

yeah you should be bleeding it thru a tube into a jar of brake fluid so you can see when there isn't any more air as well

Yea, there are bubbles. I did get a lil pressure for a bit then it went down. I will probably change the master and slave cylinders. because it was never this hard to bleed my clutch. I have done my miata and it took me like 30 min. but i been doin the rx7 for like 2 hours total. The problem is I am broke right now and I dont start working at my new job till Tuesday. I guess I will jus start the car and rev it for now. LOL!
