All of the exhaust components except the catback are ceramic coated. If heat is an issue then I will wrap the dp.

I've seen the heatwrap before, but I never understood the material and how it works.

Does it obsorb the heat? and keep it within the wrapping? or does it diminish it somehow?

it's hemp and basically blocks the heat....it also starts on fire easily and smells like crap if it gets wet....i ran it for about 24 hours and a lil oil spill on it and i had a nice sized engine fire.
ill stick to ceramic coat myself

Its alive!! Finally got her fired up today. I need to do some initial tuning to the map to lean it out and get the timing just right, but she runs! I still need to wire up the efan too, but I am very excited

I leaned it out a little and lowered the idle to about 1000-1100rpms. It is getting there! AFR's are at about 10.2 to 10.9 right now they were in the 8's before.

HEMP Holy ****, this whole time I thought it was fiberglass....

To the OP: Damn nice engine build. I have a question, are you going to cut any of the front bumper in addition to stock opening? I would hope so because why go with a huge intercooler if half of it isn't getting any air? It can't displace heat if it doesn't have air flowing thru it. And I'm glad you did the Yblock to Yblock setup. It allows you to run a single inlet and outlet FPR while still paralleling the rails. I've been wanting to do it for a while. Now I can since my engine is out too. Looks good, You should post up a total cost.

In my experiene, the ceramic coating does very little compared to a layer of heat wrap...You don't want to cook the wiring harnes and rubber lines in that area.

Yea I know, I was just being a dick. I'm about to heat wrap my downpipe. Along with the heat wrap DEI makes a silicone spray that you're supposed to spray the wrap with after you put it on so that it somewhat repels water. I got the spray at advanced auto parts.
