new rx7 owner, first rebuild just a quick ?
hey i just bought my first rx the other day at a low price cause the previous owner said he was having some engine problems with it, and needed it gone soon. So i took his offer cause you cant find a decent rx in my area for $650 unless you steal it and trailered it, and the spare engine he threw in home. knowing it was having some overheating issues and after reading through the forum for the past few months i came to the decision it must have been a blown gasket, particularly considering the one time i was able to get it to start it blew massive clouds of steam out the exhaust. So i get the engine out and my shop setup and after working my way through the tear down i get to the intermediate plate. now correct me if im wrong, but i dont think it should look like this
Already started tearing down the spare engine, can i interest anyone in an immaculate set of housings and rotors? they need a good cleaning, but are in near perfect condition

yeah, both engines are s4 n/a engines and aside from that restraining wall failure they are in perfect shape. Got the other one torn down today, and its looking great, just gonna give it a thorough cleaning tomorrow and then ive got to wait and work elsewhere until the gasket set comes in from atkins rotary... ordered engine rebuild kit instead of overhaul kit -_-" does anyone know if there is a place online that sells the interior carpeting? im not particularly fond of well worn burgundy, and am thinking of switching to grey

well i was putting out enough steam it could have been mistaken for an oil fire, except it smelled wrong, and i think it would be safe to assume that it could cause a hot rad Less water=hotter faster @ higher temps
