new rotors and pads for my car

I just bought my car off some guy i knew for 1000. it kinda of sucks cuz i gotta put alot of Tlc inthe car really quickly so i can drive 2500 miles back home after i get finished with tech school. but anyway i need to buy some good rotrs for my car. 86 1.3 NA I've already mad the dumb mistake of getting my shocks put in at Sears ($500 down the drain) and i'm hoping not to do the same with my new brake pads and rotors also my hardware for my right rears has seized so im going to let midas fix that. n e ways they wanted to charge 853.00 do do a brake job and change all the rotors. and i figured i can find something probably a bit cheaper dont u?
Also im having a problem with my idle my car generally wont ilde unless i drive it for a few min actually moving and shifting (so there is quite a bit of it shutting off) then it would idle at about 750 can i get a little advice on that.
This is my first car and i hope to learn alot from it lord knows it needs alot of tlc. Next Step Fix Sun Roof and get a new exhaust system!

Thanks,

David W

P.S.

If you got to go to the Military
GO AIR FORCE! lol

IMO don't let midas touch the car.... never had or have heard good experiences about them

for that kinda money you could buy everythying, buy tools and a jack, do it all your self, and then have money left over for other stuff

changing the brake equipt isnt hard, just a lil time consuming... there are factory service manuals online for the car, or just grab a haynes manual from some place local

Depends, what model do you have, do you know? 4-lug base? You could just pop the hood and look, it's pretty easy to tell, you'll see the A/C (silver looking) with silver lines running to it, and there should be another pump next to it that has black lines running from it. If it's not there, then you don't have power steering (not that you'd want it anyway! :-D )

Hey those rotors seem like a good deal i'm pretty interested in them but got a few questions?

1. if they are drilled and slotted when i change my brakes etc would i have to shve them? I dont think so but hey im new with cars and especially preformance parts.

2. How much is shipping and how fast can you get them to mississippi which where i go to tech chool for the air force. Because i need to put these on befor i leave to CA after i Grad In August (ive been here for almost 9 months!!!)

3.the warranty for the rotors? does it cover getting them drilled and slotted. if not i dont really think i need them drilled etc. also ive seen those hawk pads you were talkin about for about $40 for front and rear each online does that seem about right?

4.payment method i got my debit car and my credit card
i will most likely use my credit card that sound good to u? (give me the price on those pads to k) remember im in the Military i have to pay so my **** [B]wont[B] f**k you. i dont feel like going to jail. lol

Peace

Those are going to have smaller brakes and single piston calipers on the front, so I don't think the slotted & drilled will fit properly (as they're meant for the 5 lug with the larger disc setup) You should be able to get the parts pretty cheap at an autoparts store, and it's not too hard to do yourself, just a few jackstands, and use the jack that comes with the car, and you can be on your way in no time.
