New project car: something is missing from LIM, what is it?

OK, I have a project car I'm trying to get running for a buddy of mine, and as I was looking at the LIM there is something missing from the inside (the side that faces the engine). It's about halfway down, in between the secondary injectors.

My question is what is supposed to go there, and can I just make a block-off plate for it instead? I think it's just something for the accelerated warm-up, but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

EDIT:

Here, I found a pic with the thing still on. It's in the middle of the LIM with 2 tubes coming out of it.

It's the cold-start solenoid, i'd just block it off.

More accurately it's called a "sub-zero assist" injector(?).
It's part of the sub-zero assist system which is supposed to inject a 90 / 10 mixture of coolant / water into the engine when it's really cold - under 0C or 32F.
A Mazda TSB recommend pulling all that crap.

I recommend pulling it (and installing a block-off plate), since boosted1205 found it it can leak and induce an intake vacuum leak!

Is this bottle on the passenger side wheel well near the firewall? I have a small bottle over there that looks like it has a wiper fluid motor on it. It's empty and I got no damn clue what it is for.

I did not even notice it until I start read this forum...then i just made a block-off plate for it.....

What does injecting coolant do anyways?......The engine gets hot at hell! I do not think it is going to freeze.

Yes that is the one. It says sub-zero on it. Just remove evrything that the bottle connects to.

A friend's sub zero assist was kicking in every time he started his car and he'd blow smoke due to it injecting coolant into his engine at start. When he got rid of it, no more smokey problem.

It's for initial cold starting in very cold temps.
The theory is that the motor could possible freeze and lock up.
The injection of (mostly) coolant would prevent that from happening.
