New Intake Pipeing

i was curious has anybody replaced the black plastic pipe with a SS exhaust type pipe maybe 3" ???? i think this would look decent compared to the black plastic? any ideas and how hard would it be to make this?

It's been done. It wouldn't be very hard. Just bend the pipe to fit, secure with hose clamps, weld in a fitting for the air hose, and perhaps make some brackets to mount it to the engine/car.
