N1 Dual silencers...

Well, I got my silencers installed finally in my '91 TII. Things I have noticed:

-You can talk in normal voices behind my car at idle
-My girlfriend dosn't wear ear plugs in the car on long trips. I don't either
-My ears don't ring after normal drives with windows
-Other car alarms don't warn me of my presence
-My low end torque is in exsistence (What little I can use during the engine breakin)
-People don't look at me

Negatives
-That sweet ear numbing sound is choked off
-My 4.5" tail pipes are reduced to about 2". It is like a minature leaf blower with the rate the exhaust comes out.

When I get this thing on a dyno I will do a run with them in to see what the losses and gains are.

James

That's why I'm not a big fan of off-the-shelf dual systems. They all seem to be sized to reduce noise heaps over the single, whereas a custom dual can be sized to whatever you want, meaning it can flow as much as (or even more than) a single, yet still be quieter. And you can run 4½" tips if you want to!

turborotor has the same exhaust. silencers are good for when you don't want to rattle the ground

What is the best size for the Tips/ in your opinion? Does 4" look to big?

There seems to be alot of 3" systems with 4" tips out there are they very loud on a T2 (Duel)?

Alot of epople say they don't like their tips bigger than the rest of their exhaust piping, but its a matter of opinion. Unless you weld two trash cans on the back of your 7, then I would have to kill you.

I was thinking along the lines of a 3" going to 2x2.5" with 2x4" tips.

Would you say thats OTT?

with the ***-plugs installed you will see a drop in power. But they do a great job of quieting it down.
