can anyone tell me what is needed to swap from using low imp to high imp injectors? I have a stock 86 GXL, and I can get a set of just-back-from-RC-engineering-cleaned hi-imp injectors REALLY cheap. That is my biggest motivation....I tried to search, but the damn proxy server error crap is still going on.

Wrong.
To use high impedance you will need to bypass the stock resistors for the car.
I think www.rotaryresurrection.com has a write up on it but I'm not sure. If not do a search here.
To use low impedance injectors in a high impedance harness you would need 10ohm/10watt resistors placed inline for each low imp injector.
