!!! New Godzilla Port !!!!

Me and Jeff at Autoteck Motorsports just invented a new Port Size!!!
ok its under development but its going to be called a Godzilla Port. If it works out well we will paten the name lol or not but this port involvs using the 6port housing for porting instead of throwing them away for turbo ones. First off thiers around 7 different combos for porting.

One interesting one is to bridge only the top primary runner where the sleeve goes. This way the idle remains good and so does low end power until later. power would kick in like a turbo.

In my case we are going to make those two ports into one large *** port and streetport it. Then we were going to bridge the entire thing but thought that would require way to many other mods to suport the rpms. So we stayed with the large street port. Poeple say that the velocity would be much worse. But I say that I will make more power up top then a big streetport on a 4port turbo housing. Well see.

If it works we will call it GODZILLIA PORT MUAWWW

Your not the first one to do either of those. I have a friend that has the really large port with a bridge of equal size. It is in a tube frame VW drag car running a Holley carb. Has zero low end (<7000 rpm) but the car runs 10's with no turbo. It also weighs almost nothing. You will lose alot of lowend power with the stock manifold. If you are using a new one then it could be good. Good luck though!

I know somepeople have done it ... Poeple say they know someone who has done it but the difference is they didnt seem to show dyno results or results from say manfold swaps , standolones and what RPMs they achieved over say a streetport on a 4port turbo housing because thats what its about. Getting hard proof so mabey it may become more popular if it works out. Poeople tell me crap gotta go. c..ya

I didn't say don't do it. I'd love to see it work properly. Good luck! You've got my support.

When are you building this motor Von? I have an idea I think you might like to try. PM me if you want to hear it.

How bout you guys build a sequential port where you use peripheral port rotor housings AND use the 6-port side plates? muahahahaha

I actually thought of that sequential port idea. Make a secondary TB to run the perf ports. You'd have a nightmare of intake manifold machining and airflow metering, but you'd also have a powerband from 4-15K. 1/8th in first and 1/4 mile in 2nd gear anyone?

Thnx...

My meckanic actually asked if I wanted to do that sequential idea but I said no because of money reasons.

Me too, I thought about the sequential port idea. I'm still trying to figure it all out, but I haven't given up completely...now I really need money to make it work though.

If you think that way, the 6-ports are already like VTEC for the Rotary. But the 6-port 12A came around long before VTEC, so VTEC is more like a 6-port system for piston engines

why dont they make like performance e-shafts or titanium rotors? expensive yes but not impossible.

How do you run the peripheral ports with the 6 port side plates? Wouldn't the air/fuel entering the engine just leave through the pp's when you aren't using them? Is there a way you can close off the pp's so you don't lose the air/fuel when you aren't using the pp's? lol... I'm totally lost on this

They do make "performance" e-shafts. Guru Motorsports makes a 2pc. w/ 30% more bearing surface. $$$

That's why I haven't really done anything on the PP sequential setup idea. After I got to that point I was realizing that it's too much work. Maybe one day when I have stoopid money to spend on it I'll think about it again and break out the notes.

i thought about that loss of air/fuel though the pp also and was thinking about some of the tb plates ive seen in mags for s/c drag cars. They are sortof like an oculos(sp?) in a camara, very small and are flush with the tb when completly opend. I think that that would work aslong as they are just goign to be _opened_ at a specified rpm similar to how the aux ports work now. Im guessing they would have to be quite close to inside of the rotor housing to not cause adverse effects, and that what seems hard to me becase where i would stick this plate there is currently coolent.

my god we all do think alike...

i thought of doing up some titainium rotors. Im taking classes at a jc to learn how to operate/programm cnc mills and lathes.

i think the weight reduction of the rotors by using a lighter material would let the engine rev higher without the e-shaft flexing and the rotor tips hitting the side housings.

im also thinking a crank-driven centrifugal blower w/intercooler would be the best forced induction setup - the of best of both worlds (turbo vs supercharger).. no lag, real intercooling, boost control(im working on this one...), no exhaust restrictions
