new fuel injection problem

I've got a 1991 N/A engine in my sand rail and it will only start with the MAF unplugged, but won't rev up very far. If I rev it up as far as I can and then hold it there while I plug in the MAF it will rev up further but then dies when it comes back to 1500rpm or so. I have the tps, iat, boost sensor, coolant temperature sensor, and cas all hooked up and am lost on what else to look for. The emissions stuff has been removed and vacuum hoses blocked off that I don't need, any ideas are appreciated.

What ECU are you using again? Normally, the stock ECU needs the OMP or it will go into limp mode.

Are you still running the BAC valve?

No, since this is on a buggy I removed all the emissions stuff and blocked off the vacuum ports I didn't need (I didn't have time to go through and remove all of it yet but that's coming soon).

I just found someone on here with another MAF for sale for a S5 N/A and bought it, so I guess I'll see if that's the problem. As far as the BAC goes, it was actually gone when I got the motor, I think it was on when the engine was removed but I didn't get it when I bought it from the guy. Are there any adjustments or anythign I can make to see if that's the problem? I've read somewhere I need to turn the idle up but don't know where/ how to do that.

I received the new maf today and had a fees minutes to mess with it and I managed to get it to start once, so that's encouraging. I'll mess with some more after work tomorrow and see if I can get it to stay running.

I tried some more today and only got it to start once, and that was only for a few seconds. Does anyone have any other ideas?
